PLEASE NOTE: Oasis currently serves 21 clients and is committed to remaining small enough to promote the best quality program. This deliberate choice ensures the preservation of a high-quality program that prioritizes individualization and care for each participant. Admissions Criteria

To be considered for admission to our program, the applicant must:

  • Be age 18-27 and on the autism spectrum

  • Live in Middletown or a neighboring town

    • Preference will be given to students who have grown up in the area

  • Possess basic self-care skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to accept and follow reasonable rules and behave respectfully towards others

  • Have sufficient emotional and independent stability to participate in all aspects of the program

  • Exhibit an overall compatibility with the farm environment and demonstrate a willingness to pitch in and contribute to the work

  • Show a desire for continued education and self-development

Admissions Process

  1. Express interest in OASIS transitional program by filling out the form below. Only forms completed by December 31st will be considered for the following application year.

  2. Applicant will be asked to provide required clinical and educational information (i.e. latest psychological evaluation, educational reports/IEP, transcript, vocational evaluation (if available), and neurological evaluation if appropriate)

  3. Admissions director will schedule a phone interview to verify if applicant meets initial admissions criteria. If applicant meets initial criteria, he/she will be scheduled for an in-person interview and tour of the facility

  4. If the initial visit indicates a potential match, the family/guardian will be asked to complete an application for admission and to schedule a two-day assessment period. Student application/intake form must be completed prior to the assessment period.

  5. Applicants will be notified of suitability for Program by June 15th of the application year.

  6. All admissions are contingent on successful completion of a 30 day trial period beginning the first day of programming. Due to space limitations, not all applicants who complete the application and meet the criteria for admission will be accepted. A Selection Committee will review applications and select students for admission. The decision to offer or deny admission to the Program will be made by the Selection Committee.
